Bars open from noon till around 01:00. Way more quieter, although it's not lacking in places to sit and quoff or just sit. 1. Eleni's - Greek tapas, bar included.Walk down the RHS of the Oude Gracht, funnily enough it's just across the road from the entrance to Coffeeshop No Name?. Spend as little as €10+ pp for a little of everything. I haven't been to this place in quite a while. The last time was on a shopping trip. It was hot, we we're tired, hungry and thirsty. It took around 25 minutes to get a drink ordered in a relatively quiet bar. I din't stay for the drink to make it to the table and there really was never a question of actually placing an order for food. They do however pander to children, in so far as they allow them buggys included, to run around to there hearts content, within reason.
2. Pomo - Surrinamese Java cuisine. Good hearty food kind of fusion. Actually for me it's likeHalfway down WittwrouwenStraat. Midrange approximately €25 pp all in.
3. De Reinies - A typical Dutch Brown Bar. A bar of course open from lunchtime and good deals on lunchtime specials. Spendy but really nice food. A popular place on the evening. €35 all in, 3 courses etc.
4. Belgie - Huge range of beer and spirits, they also cater with Belgium sandwiches and turkish pizza etc...On the LHS of the Oude Gracht. It's a cheaper version of De Reinie's. Again very popular on a weekend, spend as little as €5 on a quick drink and snack or €20-30 on something more substantial.
5. Kebab Hut - Turkish pizza, kebab, burger, coke - Right next door to Andersom, uber cheap.
6. La Cerafon - Not open on Sundays and Mondays, Opens at 7pm. This bar is really chilled, playing cards, kewl barman, he even cooks up a toastie if ya feel a bit peckish. Not somewhere to take ya mother tho! Open late.
7. Het Hart - Voorstraat 10- Another cheap bar, kinda reminds me of some wanna be bar on Division Street, only the staff are much more competent. They do some food and they are open till ??am. DJ occasionally.
8. Marios' Pizza - top of the Oude Gracht down the road from PTT, the central post office - mmm lekker Italian Bol (fresh sand which)
9. Emergency stops - If all else fails McDonalds on the Oude gracht open as usual, Kentucky Fried Chicken round the corner from the Hoog Catherine.
