Utrecht Central Station
The hub of Holland and probably the starting place if your looking to visit anywhere in Europe without taking a flight. Its open all day everyday, unless there is a state of emergency. The common meeting place is in front of the big platform board. The place is rife with pickpockets and junkies, so don't leave your baggage alone and make sure valuables are not in your pockets. There are baggage storage holders at the far side of the station.

Rail tickets can be bought from auto machines dotted around the station OR from the main ticket office. Discounts are available for students. Maestro and possibly solo cards are acceptable. Visa and Mastercard are rarely accepted. Cash can be bought from the GWK in Utrecht station or pin machines all over the place allow universal cashcards to be used.

The bus and tram stations can found leaving the station and exiting right down the stairway.

When traveling on trains try to look for "sneltrain" as it will get you there more directly than a "stoptrain", which has to stop at every platform.
