::Trams:: Trams are frequent and easy as they tend to stop at major places. From our place to Utrecht City Center is 5 strips on the Strippenkart and takes around 20 - 30 minutes. It is really flexible and you can get on or off at any stop in between. The most common route between us and Utrecht is: Utrecht Moreelspark -> Ijsselstein Binnenstad OR Ijsselstein Zuid (last Stop)
Strippenkart's are the best format for dealing with trams. Can be bought from most shops and tobacconists. They are nationally recognised for public transport. Sometimes it's self service so you just clip your own ticket once yo get on. Sometimes they send an Inspector to check tickets. So it may be possible to buy your fare from them. But they rarely get on and you could be charged at a higher tarif or most likely fined about €30. Trams in Amsterdam are rarely self serve as you can imagine, too many pot heads to allow self service. So get on the tram and check the ticket machine, but if it's out of service pay with the bloke in the booth, using cash OR strippenkart. |
